So after a long weekend, hot and humid weather, and very little sleep, my boys lost and we are headed home tomorrow. I am sad for them, but they did so well this weekend and gained so much respect. The final score was 16-9, but for most of the game we led. We just ran out of great pitching, but you know that is how the game goes. I am hoping to get some more sleep once I get home. I got maybe 5 hours Fri. night, 3 hours last night, and now we are leaving the hotel at 4:30am to go to the airport so tonight will not be the night to catch up on sleep. I am sure I will wake up about 10 times knowing that I have to get up, and afraid that I'll oversleep.
What does this mean for me now? Well, I have an easy-peasy schedule now. I will work about 4 hours a day, Mon-Fri, which means I have my weekends back! WOOT! Then I have July off to rest up for August, and soccer season.
I have some goals for June and July:
1) Focus on charting
2) Work out and lose some lbs
3) Have fun
Lets see what happens because I'm confident in #1 and #3. The 2nd one is gonna be tricky but I need to kick my own ass, and anyone else that wants to do that, please feel free!

AW my team
Go Bearcats!! After getting delayed Friday night, we had to play at 10am yesterday morning vs. East Carolina U. and lost 11-7 but actually out hit them and earned a little respect for the northeast. Then in game 2, we beat George Mason 11-6. This is our first NCAA win ever for the program, and the first time someone in our conference has won since 2005. Also with that win, that put the the wins for our season at 30, which breaks the record for wins and in the last 6 consecutive seasons, we have done that which NO OTHER PROGRAM in the country has done that!!! WOOHOO!!! A little bit about George Mason - they were ranked 29th in the country last weekend, and had the second highest winning percentage coming into the tournament of any other team in the country. Thanks for letting me AW them, they deserve it. We play East Carolina U. again today at 2pm, and if we lose we're done, but it was a great ride. If we win, we will play USC at 6pm. Honestly, our best pitching got used yesterday so I'm not expecting anything out of them. If they win, great, and if not, hey we did the best we could.
As for me, I'm not sure I'll O this cycle. I go up, then down, up then down. The only time that is fun is in the bedroom ;) Oh well we'll see.

Adventures in NC

Well, today was great. It was sunny, warm, a little humid but I brought the anti-frizz. The day was nice and relaxing, at some more food. Then I needed a beverage. I was desperate and with no car, desperate times call for desperate measures. I started walking. First I came to a Walgreens and that was a no go. Then I kept walking, and saw an Exxon right across the street, and a Food Lion a little further away. After a short debate, Food Lion won out and boy am I glad. I couldn't believe the wine selection!! Why can't they sell wine in grocery stores in NY??? So... here is how I'll be spending my night.
Lyse all up in the NC!
I am now in NC, Greenville to be exact. We have a practice today and then our first game tomorrow at 7pm. It is a double elimination tournament, so it will be interesting to see how we do. I just hope we represent the Northeast well! The earliest we'll go home is Sunday. If I spend too much time here though, I may gain 20 pounds. Last night we ate at the best bbq place ever. EVERYTHING was delicious. I had bbq chicken (think pulled pork consistency), and fries, hush puppies, tried some "Brunswick stew" which if you have never had it is pretty hard to explain. I tried sweet tea for the first time too. OMG someone almost had to roll me out of there. I didn't even eat breakfast, I was still full!!
On another front, I am still waiting to see if I O'ed. I had a temp rise, then drop, then rise, so we shall see what tomorrow does. I feel like I've been saying that for a few days now, but I guess that goes with the charting territory. I will say this, it definitely has me intrigued, but I can see how for those that have been doing it for a while, it can get tedious.

And the Bearcats are going to...
Greenville, NC. We are going to play East Carolina, on Friday. We will leave on Wednesday, and return to NY either Saturday or Sunday. Not sure of the details, but that is what I know right now.
On the charting front, I think I am going to O soon. Big temp drop today, sore boobs and O pain. Or what I think is O pain. We will certainly see tomorrow right! The one good thing about staying on the east coast with this weekend's travels is no changing of time zones. I have enough open circles, I don't need anymore!

Woohoo!

YAY!! My baseball team is conference champs! What does this mean? First ever trip to the NCAA regionals. This is big for not only our team, but our school and community. It also helps with my job security, who am I kidding? I am so glad this weekend is over. I worked 44.5 hours in 3 days and I am a zombie right now. Last was crazy, after starting work at 11am, I finally got home and right into bed at 4am. Between lightening delays, and the sprinkler system turning on. No, no. You read that right. We finally won at 3:08am. Tomorrow, we will find out where we will go, and I am crossing my fingers that it is somewhere fun and that I have never been before.
While this work thing has been long, exhausting, yet exciting, my temping has suffered. Three open circles in a row is not a good thing, especially around this time in my cycle. But what can I do? I got home and in bed at 4am, and woke up to temp an hour late, at 7am. These are not normal circumstances, so hopefully there will be no more temping nonsense. I think I may O soon, or at least hope so. We shall see.

Bad news times two
We got awful news today. Times two. My MIL had breast cancer 7 years ago and she beat it. Well today it was confirmed that the lump that she found in the other breast, is cancer. It's back. That biiitch. But that's not all. My BIL, her son, found a lump. Think Lance Armstrong. An ultrasound confirmed that it is not fluid filled, it is a solid mass. Fortunately, unfortunately, not sure yet, he ended up going to the ER today due to pain and they did a CT scan. They found a mass in his stomach. So now we wait. My heart is breaking for them, and for hubby. Life isn't fair, we've sure learned that lesson already. Please send thoughts and prayers our way. xoxo

One day down, 2-3 more to go
Yesterday was the longest day ever! I worked 13.5 hours. I got a decent night's sleep but I feel like I didn't sleep. I have the same exact day today, and one tomorrow. Sunday should only be an 8-9 hour day, but if things work out, I could be off! Cross your fingers for me!!
On the charting note, I am not sure what is going on. I have had twinges and pains in my lower abdomen, sometimes the right side, sometimes left, sometimes in the middle. I marked them as gas pains, because I'm gassy too, but these are not in the usual spots for that. Oh well we shall see.

My first attempt at blogging
Well I didn't think I would do this, but hey, why the hell not. I need a place to vent and share exciting (usually just exciting to me) news. I hope you enjoy.
Oh and just to clarify the lack of temp yesterday and temp today. Yesterday while I was temping my thermometer died. I turned it on, heard it beep, then saw after a long time that it wasn't taking my temperature and in fact was not on at all. Now I had not gotten a BBT, just using the regular digital that I had already owned, so I was actually looking forward to getting a BBT, but bummed that there was no temperature for that day. GRRRR. So after going to Target TWICE, they didn't have one. Went to Walmart, and they didn't have one. Finally, after driving across town in the opposite direction, I got one at Walgreens. Oh and its PIIIIIINK!! So there you go.
