A week of blessings

This week has been fan-fucking-tastic. I mean really, there are 4 very sweet, loving, and amazing women in my life that just learned that they are pregnant. What an exciting time for them! I can't wait to follow their journey into motherhood and I just know that it will be an entertaining and hilarious ride.

I want to add, that I am really struggling with cycle 10. I hate, hate, hate the fact that we are now in the double digits. I know there is no need to get upset, or be mad about it, because really, what does that get me. Still in cycle 10. I have to just keep on keeping on. This 2ww will bring an interesting twist. A visit with my midwife for my annual "cheap thrill of the day" appointment and a discussion about where we're at. I'm both excited and nervous for that appointment. Of course it would be the best thing if I was just pregnant and didn't need any tests or to ask 20 questions, but hey we shall see.

As much as I'm struggling, I am keeping in mind what this year has been labeled by yours truly. This IS the year of BFPs for those that want them. There have already been 4 wonderful women who have proved that to be true, and we're only 29 days into the year. :)

You like me, you REALLY like me!!!

I won an award for my blog. The honestly award. I almost fell over in shock. Thank you to Jessiecow, you are sweeter than my cookie dough ice cream to me! I'm one lucky girl to know you. Check out her blog, y'all she is a doll! http://babypooface.blogspot.com/

So I guess now I need to tell you 10 honest truths about me and my life. Here we go:

1) I love wine. I mean its no secret but like my husband loves his mountain dew, that is how I feel about wine. Its tasty, you want to drink it every day, however its not good for you to. Well I guess I win on that one because a daily dose of wine is recommended more than mountain dew.

2) I let myself gain 60 pounds since high school. UGH who does that. I have said it before, but I'm on the fast track to weight loss. Operation skinny has began.

3) I am as blunt in real life as I am on the interwebz. I cannot be fake, its just not in my DNA.

4) I could live off of pizza. Perhaps this is one of the reasons behind my weight gain. I'd like to think its the best of 3 food groups.

5) I used to be such a social butterfly but now I relish the days I get to stay home in my sweats and don't have to worry about leaving my house. I turned down a free dinner at a pricey Japanese restaurant tonight because I didn't want to have to change.

6) I'm addicted to the interwebz. Hence this blog and the source of the award. I have even started meeting my message board friends in person and I have to say, it has been fabulous! They are my family and such a strong source of support. Not sure how I would have gotten through some things this year without them.

7) I plan to be the big boss at my job one day. I started out hating it, and I'm not going anywhere now. I will run that place one day and double my salary.

8) I love my dogs more than some of the people in my life sometimes. I mean they don't talk back, well for the most part. They don't care what size I am. They are the most spoiled things ever. They literally sleep in between my husband and I in our king sized bed.

9) I'm stubborn as hell. My husband will leave dishes in the sink and not wash them. I will leave them there for days because he should have to clean them. Usually I gross myself out before he does them. Then I bitch.

10) Right now, my family and my husband's family are Cancer free. This is the best news we could ask for.

I would like to nominate the following blogs for this award:

10 days into 2010

Its been pretty good so far!
  • Got to meet a friend that I don't get to see in another capacity while in Boston.
  • My friend had a beautiful baby girl who was a little early and needs some breathing assistance, but that I think will pull through just wonderfully.
  • Also, my BIL got a great progress report from his oncologist. Blood work and tests are all looking great! Continued monitoring over the next year or so and then he will be able to really begin his life being cancer free. This is the best news ever.
  • In one week from now, I'll get to catch up with even more friends, who I'm sure will provide me with laughs and good times.
So here is what I've decided. For too long I've let the weight come on, not being super proactive about any weight loss because of the "what ifs." No more. I will either spend 2010 pregnant, or working on getting healthy and weight loss. Either will be great things in my life. I haven't stepped on the scale since right before Christmas, but I will do so tomorrow. Although I may want to cry, that number will be remembered. Why would I want to remember that number? Here is why: That number will be there tomorrow, and that will be the last time I see it. It will not be me in 2010. (Unless its a result of pregnancy of course.)

How will I do this? First things first. My metabolism is asleep. It needs a wake up call, and it is going to get one. I really believe in making changes one at a time. Master one thing, and the others will follow. I've tried doing everything at once, and it gets overwhelming and the train derails before its stop. So, I'm going to tackle the exercise component. I need that to become a routine. A consistency. Once that is on track, I'll tackle the eating which is not TOO bad. The sweets kill me so if I can reduce those, and work on portion control, I think I'll be on a pretty healthy road. Wish me luck! Its going to be a bumpy ride, but I know I can do it.

Out with the bad and in with the good!

Goodbye 2009 and hellloooo 2010. I just have this overwhelming feeling that it is going to be a great year. My spirits are high, and I have nothing but positive thoughts. I will say it was a little ironic to start off the year with a stuffy nose and sore throat. No worries though, I'm not going to let it get me down. Of all things I have dealt with last year, a cold I can handle.

I really hope this is the year of great things for me, my friends and family. There is nothing really planned after a couple of trips in January, so I think it will be a go with the flow type of year. Happy New Year everyone! xoxo
