Our Bathroom Nightmare

So Tuesday morning is my early day, and after hubby got out of the shower and was getting ready, it was my turn. I had the water running and all of a sudden hear the hubs yelling to me to shut the water off. OOOOOK. This was not good. I knew it as soon as I heard him. So I join him 2 floors down into the basement where water is pouring down there. Our bathtub is leaking through 2 floors. Oh joy.
Soooo I gather up things to take to work so I can shower there, and he leaves for work saying that he will be calling a plumber.

A couple hours later, he calls to tell me he is home with his Dad, and the leak is not a plumbing fix, the area around the tub such as the tile is leaking. So he thinks Hey this is not bad, I can re-caulk and fix it temporarily. We had been getting estimates for our bathroom, and looking into it. We already had a plan, but we just wanted to save the money instead of taking out a loan. Wellllll he took out the caulk and tiles fell off the wall. Yikes. It is sooo rotted, moldy, and just a mess. The only quick fix is plastic on the walls. Unfortunately, this is our only shower. Unfortunately, our contractor is busy on another job and not sure when he can help us. Unfortunately, we had to take out a loan. This does not help my anxiety.

So where we are right now is a shower, lined in plastic, still leaking slightly. We have ordered most of the fixtures and main things for the bathroom. Our goal is to get all of the stuff by next week and then we will be ready for our contractor. Hopefully it will be soon! On one hand it is exciting to get our new bathroom, on the other, it is stressful shizz. This is what we get to look at everyday:

  2. OH no! Just don't let the loan thing worry you. You can't help that this happened. Hopefully it turns out better than you ever expected!
