Was yesterday. I had my annual appointment with my Midwife. I also took that opportunity to take my charts in and discuss my concerns regarding why the hell I am not pregnant yet. Yes, yes, I know. It takes a healthy, average woman 12 months to get pregnant. I get it. However, I was pregnant about 5 months ago. It lasted about 5 seconds but in that short time, we found out that my progesterone was too low. I was told at that time that it could have been a fluke or may be an issue. Well, after all this time I started to wonder.
The appointment in itself went well. I got a little emotional, however I have been that way this week. Also starting to get sick so I was extra snotty. I bet I looked hot all snotty and teary-eyed in that oh-so-fashionable gown. She loved my charts and thought that they looked awesome and was very impressed. She wants me to keep charting. Next, she thinks that we need to take a look at my husband to make sure that there are no issues on his end. Yes hubby, you get to jizz into a cup. Isn't this fun? He was like ehhh about it but knew that it was an option and will happily oblige. What, like it isn't every man's dream? No?
After his results, we will take a look at me. Now, she is willing to do this testing at any time, however that pesky little thing called health care may make us wait 2 more cycles. I will be making a call to my insurance company this week. THAT is always a joy.
Oh did I mention that I was so nervous that my blood pressure was a lovely 130/80? Well while that may be normal, MY normal is 100-110/60-70. Awesome. But, there was no need for those nerves as she was awesome. She listened, and understood and never made me feel like I was trying to jump the gun or my concerns weren't valid. I was there about an hour and a half.
So now we wait. I have about a week or less left to see if any of this testing is needed. I pray that it is not, however, it is a relief to know that we have a plan. Sadly I think I will be out of town during our next chance, but hey, life doesn't stop for the baby making.
P.S. Thanks for the award!
