My words to the doctor following the husband's procedure today when he showed me the images of what he did. NO I was NOT talking about his package size, because well lets face it that would be the last thing I'd call it. This was in reference to the varicocele. His response? "No actually that is a a pretty good sized one." Really? Omigod should I be happy about this? I don't know but I definitely am. He said that most cases they send to him are labeled small, however they see differently most times when they go in there. Huh, interesting. So why am I happy that it was bigger than we thought? Well, not sure why but I am just convinced that since it was bigger than we thought, fixing it will make that much more of an impact on his sperm count, motility and morphology.
Perhaps that's not the case, however let me enjoy this moment right now. Everything went swimmingly well! He was done in less than an hour, and besides his extremely bad mood from not being able to do anything but lay flat and not move for 5 hours, he is feeling sore, however not in pain right now. He is actually in a great mood as well. I went down to the basement where he is hiding out from our dogs who more resemble cows than small dogs, and he had just woken up from a 3 hour nap. Unfortunately he couldn't get comfortable enough to sleep in the hospital so this was much needed. He said he felt pretty good, just sore, and was thanking me for doing stuff for him. Most guys are grumpy when they are sick, or hurting, and Rob is no exception. Not this time though. At least for now. ::fingers crossed::
You know, the thing about all of this, is he is doing it for me. Yes, he is doing i for our future family, but if he didn't know how badly I want to have a baby(ies) he would be content with just us and our dogs for the rest of our lives. I love this man.
Obviously he loves you too. Yay, Rob. You are a trooper! I am with you, Lyse, I think this will make a big difference in his SA. :)
