So I know I haven't updated, but we haven't had too much news. Both surgeries for my BIL and MIL went well. My BIL spent Monday night, and then went home on Tuesday. He had a follow-up appointment today in which he was supposed to get back the results of the biopsy and the chest and abdominal CT scan. Well we went today, but the results are not back. What a freakin waste of time. We did find out that the chest CT scan was clear, however the abdominal CT scan showed a mass which was present 2 weeks ago when it was originally found. They had given him antibiotics to see if perhaps it was an abscess and would go away, but it has not changed. So now we wait. The doctor has no idea when we should hear the results, as he assumed and is surprised they were not ready today.
My MIL's surgery went well, and they believe they got all of the tumor, which was not very large. They tested the lymph nodes and preliminary reports are negative, so it looks like so far, no chemo, just radiation. We will keep our fingers crossed there!
A new source of drama in my life, is that my brother and I will no longer be speaking and our trip down there to see him and his family has been canceled. Long story short, he feels that it is acceptable to disrespect both my mother and I, as well as allow his wife to do the same, in front of family, and in public on FB. That is not how we live, and that is unacceptable behavior for people in our lives.
Thank you everyone for your well wishes, thoughts and prayers. I feel like I have such a support system through you ladies and I can't express how much it is appreciated. I am looking forward to having my friend visit tomorrow and the wine tour on Saturday, followed by some partying. I certainly need it.
Holy hell, you've had a week. I'll share a glass of wine with you, how's that sound? (And by "glass", I mean "big girl bottle".)
ReplyDeleteI will keep you and your family in my prayers. I say a wine tour is a great idea.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad to hear the both surgeries went well. I hope things continue to move forward in a positive direction. Sorry to hear about your bro. That really sucks. Hope you have a fun weekend!
ReplyDeleteComing from a very dysfunctional family, I wish you didn't have the brother drama. I'm still praying for your family!
